The Wail of the Whale / Solo Final

Theme: Solos

 

Introduction 

As part of a larger event, The Wail of the Whale, students agreed on performing their final solos collectively. Thus, their solos became part of a performance ritual around a sculpture situated next of the Osceola Lake on campus. The event was part of Earth Day.

  • Understand the dynamics of public performance
  • Explain feelings regarding dancing for an audience
  • Gain an awareness of the importance of dance as an agent in developing awareness about the environment 
  • Experience what is like to perform in public

A Note to Remember

 Performing is a privilege one never takes for granted. The audience deserves the out-most respect. A ritual performance always has an intent and a purpose.
