  I Unit: Final Performance Theme: Solos   Introduction  As part of a larger event, The Wail of the Whale, students agreed on performing their final solos collectively. Thus, their solos became part of a performance ritual around a sculpture situated next of the Osceola Lake on campus. The event was part of Earth Day.     I Unit: Rehearsing Theme: Solos and Ensembles   Introduction Solo and ensemble work have different characteristics. Solo work allows the dancer to tell his/her own story.   I Unit: Rehearsing Theme: Boosting Rehearsal Efficiency   Introduction  Whether you are a dancer or a choreographer you will always have to do some sort of warm up to settle your body into the space. A great way to preserve creative brain energy is to repeat the same warm up, stretches and cool down weekly. This frees up a lot of thinking space that could be used for choreographing something new. Also, repetition of movement and exercise will make you or your dancers stronger at the movements that are packed into the warm up. I Unit: Rehearsing Theme: How to Prepare for a Dance Performance   Introduction   Warming up thoroughly before one starts dancing is the key to not getting injured and begin to focus. This is important in preparing the body for dancing as the warm up helps to endure the performance. Cooling down after a dance session is also important.
